Our Mission

The mission of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church is to be a Christian Community devoted to the fostering of Salvation through the Repentance of sin and the profession of Faith in Jesus Christ. The essentials of our ministry include: the Worship of God in the Spirit and in Truth; ministering to the needs of the whole person in the church and community; and the making of committed Christian Disciples through Evangelism; Christian Education and Spiritual Edification.

Matthew 28:19-20

Our Leader

Rev. Dr. Kenneth J. Tate

Dr. Tate is a native of Jefferson South Carolins's. He is married to Mrs. Teresa H. Tate and is the father of Kendra L. Tate. Dr. Tate earned his Doctorate of Ministry Degree from the New Life Theological Seminary in 2000. He received his Masters of Divinity Degree from New Life Theological Seminary in 1998. He received an Associate of Business from Chesterfield-Marlboro Technical College, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree/Biblical Studies from the New Life University and Columbia International Theological Seminary in 1996. He became pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in 2002. Since that time Antioch has experienced growth both numerically, economically and spiritually.

In 2006 Dr. Tate organized the Antioch Child Care Academy and received his Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Mount Olive College in 2007. Believing that education prepares you for the on-going changes in our culture, Dr. Tate continued pushing for additional education. He obtained a Teaching Certificate in Continuing Christin Education from Shaw Divinity School in 2005, and a Master of Science Administration from Central Michigan University in 2009. As he reveals the vision of the church (Strength for the Journey Ministries), he states, "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care!" Pastor, Author, and Spiritual Visionary, Dr. Kenneth and his wife Lady Teresa Tate, through the leadership of the Holy Sprint, is empowering the community and the members of the Antioch Church to be disciples of Christ rather than a church member. "Strength For the Journey comes when we (God's people) gather in obedience to Christ, His Word and His Will, we receive the empowerment through His presence, and boldly implement His command. When this happens; persons are touched, lives are changed, and the kingdom is enlarged.
